About Us

allmannwappner is an internationally active architecture practice with offices in Munich and Berlin. More than 150 professionals from a wide range of national backgrounds work in project teams tailored to the specific requirements of each commission. Bringing together specialists from all relevant disciplines, we ensure the successful realization of outstanding architecture at every stage of the design and construction process. Carbon accounting

The CO₂e footprint includes all climate-relevant emissions. This allows us to see where the greatest leverage lies and where we need to improve. In individual cases emissions may increase due to structural changes, for example in the calculation methodology, in the scope categories considered, in the emission factors according to the GHG Protocol, or due to company growth.

  • Short-haul flights are replaced by rail travel, and intra-city car journeys are replaced by public transportation (travel policy).
  • Consumed food products meet the criteria of being organic, regional, seasonal, Fairtrade-certified, and vegetarian. The procurement policy also applies, where influence is possible, to catering, events, and similar activities.
  • Provision of additional recycling bins (for packaging waste) in kitchen areas.
  • Transition to recycled paper for hygiene paper products, office paper, and plotter paper.
  • Regulation and regular monitoring of room temperatures.
  • Transition to regionally sourced green electricity (renewable energy).

Further engagement

To encourage behavioural changes across all CO₂e consumption categories, employees are continuously informed and educated about potential savings measures through internal presentations.

 

 

A wide range of activities and projects support and accompany the CO₂e reduction measures. For example, in 2023, the lawn on our rooftop terrace was transformed into a diverse wildflower meadow, and the gravel courtyard was converted into a participatory community garden with raised beds in order to enhance biodiversity in our outdoor spaces.

With the fundamental decision to transform allmannwappner into an even more sustainable company and thus to take immediate measures to protect the climate, our ongoing path to reducing CO₂e-emissions was started in November 2021 with the assessment of the reference year 2019.
Despite the increase in our rental space and the number of employees, as well as the categories of capital goods, home office and all purchased services not yet included in the CO₂e balances at the beginning, we were able to reduce our emissions by 49 tonnes within the first four years through savings measures and switching to more sustainable alternatives.

CO₂ equivalents (CO₂e) are a unit of measurement used to express the climate impact of different greenhouse gases in a common unit. This takes into account how much each gas contributes to the greenhouse effect—compared to the reference gas carbon dioxide (CO₂).
